The later years of life bring layers of new challenges — as well as opportunities for depth and growth. These five sessions will offer ways to bring mindfulness into dealing with physical changes, loss, and altered roles in family and society. Mindfulness makes space for letting go of old habits that are no longer needed as they tend to inhibit greater freedom and a compassionate approach to change.
In our two hours together, the group will share a quiet meditation, and leave lots of time for discussion, questions, and reflection. Reading materials will be provided to look over in the weeks between meetings. The five weeks are intended as the beginning of a journey and a chance to draw on the wisdom and lessons that people in this phase of life have learned over a lifetime.
Workshops will be led by Aylene Wozmak, retired Hospice Nurse with over 29 years of experience, (and collectively a nurse since 1978) and Chairperson of the Board as well as a facilitator at the Center, and Ginnie Gavrin, retired massage therapist, member of the Board and a facilitator at the Center.
The course will be offered on Wednesdays, April 16-May 14, 9:30-11:30am, at the Monadnock Mindfulness Practice Center. $95. All proceeds go to support the Center. No one is ever turned away for lack of funds.
